Westchester County Seeks Public Input on OMNY Retail Locations

WESTCHESTER COUNTY SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT TO EXPAND OMNY RETAIL LOCATIONS AHEAD OF 2026 LAUNCH

Residents Invited to Nominate Local Businesses for OMNY Card Sales as County Prepares for Transition

(White Plains, NY) – Westchester County is inviting residents to help shape the rollout of the OMNY retail network by nominating local businesses where they would like to purchase or reload OMNY cards once the system launches for Bee-Line riders in early 2026. The submissions to the public nomination form will help shape a county-wide network of accessible retail locations that reflect the daily routines of Bee-Line riders.

The OMNY rollout will introduce the same tap-to-pay system currently used in New York City. Riders will be able to tap their phone, credit card, or OMNY card to pay fares, while the retail network will provide a familiar and accessible option for loading value and purchasing OMNY cards. This modernization is designed to streamline travel and provide Westchester riders with the same speed, flexibility and simplicity enjoyed by millions of riders across the region.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “We want residents to tell us exactly where OMNY card access will help them the most. The shift from MetroCard to OMNY is a significant step for our Bee-Line riders, and the retail network plays a crucial role in that transition. Hearing directly from our riders ensures that we build a system that works for everyone.”

Deputy County Executive Richard Wishnie said, “Nominating retailers is a simple but meaningful way for residents to help guide this next chapter in our transit system. We want OMNY to be easy, accessible and convenient. This process helps us meet riders where they already shop and travel.”

Residents can nominate a business by completing the OMNY Retailer Nomination Form at https://bit.ly/omny-retail. The form also provides information for store owners who may be interested in joining the OMNY retail network. There is no cost to businesses for participation.
