Attention Residents

Commencing September 2025 through November 2025, Wood Street and Jefferson Avenue will be under construction for improvements to the existing drainage system. Associated improvements will include the replacement and/or restoration of existing curb and driveway aprons, as needed, along with resurfacing both Wood Street and Jefferson Avenue within the project limits.

Test pit excavation, required to identify potential existing utility interferences, has already been completed. Construction to resolve any existing utility interferences has already begun and is scheduled to be completed Friday, October 10, 2025. Construction of drainage improvements, including removal of existing and installation of new drainage systems, is scheduled to commence on or about Monday, October 13, 2025.

Construction will begin at the intersection of Grove Street and Wood Street, and continue along Wood Street and Jefferson Avenue, terminating at the cul-de-sac at the end of Jefferson Avenue. The drainage improvements will follow the general alignment highlighted in red on the map below. Upon completion of the drainage installation, curbs and driveway aprons will be restored and the full length of Wood Street and Jefferson Avenue (north of Wood Street) will be resurfaced.

Construction hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, however, the contractor may be required to mobilize equipment shortly before or after these hours. While construction work is taking place, Wood Street and Jefferson Avenue will be OPEN to vehicle traffic. However, there may be limited temporary road closures required at certain intervals of the day. These closures will be coordinated to minimize traffic impacts. Restricted areas of “No Parking” will be required during working hours to maintain a safe work environment for the public and provide the contractor sufficient access for construction. These restricted parking areas will be limited to the immediate area of work and associated staging and will progress as the construction continues along the road. Advance notice of “No Parking” will be provided and posted, as needed. Parking will be permitted during non-construction hours from approximately 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM but will be dependent upon the current stage of construction/progress of work and only if safe to do so.

Driving in and around these areas, as well as on-street parking, will be difficult during this time. We apologize for this inconvenience.
