On 9/15, village residents gathered in the Court Room to hear a presentation on emergency preparedness hosted by the Village of Mamaroneck in cooperation with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services.  The presentation was delivered as part of Governor Hochul’s Citizen Preparedness Corp. which connects communities with emergency preparedness training for local residents.  Instructors were members of the New York Army National Guard and the New York Air National Guard, who spoke about: fire safety, cybersecurity, severe weather, and many other potential emergency situations. After the presentation, our Assistant Village Manager led a Question & Answer Session to discuss local emergency response and flooding.  Each attendee was also provided a free “go bag” to help them get started on building their own emergency kit for home or work or for the car.
