Following are some post-snowstorm announcements from the Village of Mamaroneck.

While the Village received lower than expected accumulation, we still got a good 8"-10” of snow.
Village roads and parking lots will take all day to clear. Therefore, garbage collection for Thursday, December 17th has been CANCELLED. Our Public Works employees who collect trash and recycling are the same employees who clear the snow. If possible, please kindly move vehicles parked on Village streets. This will help our Public Works employees get the snow removed from the streets.
The parking lot at Harbor Island Park is currently being cleared (as of 12:30pm, Thursday, 12/17).
Many thanks to our employees in the Department of Public Works and the Parks Department for working almost 30 hours to clear the snow! If you see them around the Village, please thank them for all they do to keep our Village running smoothly.
The Recycling Center, including the Compost Drop-Off Program, is closed today.
Property owners are reminded that the Village code (which was recently updated in January 2020) requires you to remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to your property. Please do not throw snow into the street when shoveling. Also, please keep snow and ice 3-feet away from fire hydrants. In case of fire, our firefighters need to be able to get to the hydrants quickly.
If you observe any downed electric wires, please call our police desk at 914-777-1122 and press Option 3. Please only dial 911 for emergencies. Stay away from downed lines. To report power outages, please call ConEdison at 1-800-752-6633 or visit conEd.com.
Finally, please also remember to check-in on elderly neighbors and those who may need assistance.
