As of September 4, 2021, at 9:30AM, the Village of Mamaroneck has the following announcements:
- An extensive collection of donated items will be distributed today, Saturday, September 4th, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church at the corner of Boston Post Road and Mt. Pleasant Avenue. Please note that this location has changed since last night’s announcements. The distribution site at the Jefferson Avenue Parking Lot has been canceled. All pick up is at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on the corner of Mt. Pleasant Avenue and Boston Post Road. If you need water, gift cards, clothes, toiletries, diapers, and more, please visit St. Thomas Episcopal Church. They will be open from 9:30am to 4:00pm today, Saturday, September 4 and again tomorrow, Sunday, September 5, from noon to 4.
- We anticipate all pump outs to be completed by the end of the day today, Saturday, September 4th. Crews can assist Village residents to clear out flood waters in excess of 6-inches. (Unfortunately, these pumps will not work on flood waters that are less than 6-inches in depth.) You can still email your request to pumpout@vomny.org with your name, address, and contact number or you can call the Village Manager’s Office at (914) 777-7703 so we can include you on our list. Whether sending an email or leaving a voicemail, please provide your name, address, and contact number. Again, we anticipate all pump outs that have been requested to be completed by the end of the day today. If you have significant flooding in excess of 6-inches, please let us know. You can also call the Village Manager’s Office at (914) 777-7703 for a Flood Clean Up Kit. We have received hundreds of requests for these kits. We continue to collect names, addresses and phones numbers so that Red Cross officials can distribute them to anyone who needs them.
- As garbage trucks come through Village streets, we have the ability to use heavy duty machinery to clear DEBRIS PILES quickly. If you have a car parked along the street, please move your car so that our trucks and crew can pick up debris quickly and efficiently. The Village Manager has issued FREE parking in all Village Parking lots until Tuesday, September 7. If a parked vehicle is blocking a debris pile, please note that the vehicle may be towed in order to expedite this process.
- Please do not block fire hydrants with debris.
- A representative from the New York State Department of Financial Services is available to meet with residents today, Saturday, September 4, until 5pm at the Village Courthouse at 169 Mt. Pleasant Avenue. This representative can provide residents and business owners impacted by the storm with insurance information regarding policy coverage for losses and suggestions on how to document their losses.
- Harbor Island Park is OPEN but the Beach is closed. If you visit the park, please stay away and make sure all children stay away from the cordoned off area where emergency personnel, vehicles and other machinery are. This is for your safety and the safety of our emergency personnel.
- Con Edison is distributing dry ice today to customers at the Mamaroneck TOWN Parking Lot at 1 Vine Street in Larchmont.
We anticipate sending another email and phone announcement later today, Saturday, September 4. Thank you. Be well and stay safe.
