Martin Luther King Jr. Day`

All Non-Emergency Village offices are closed on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There will be no garbage, organic, food scrap*, rubbish, or recycling collection on Monday, January 20. The Recycling Center, including the Compost Drop-Off Program at 313 Fayette Avenue is closed and the Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park is also closed.

*For our Monday food scrap subscribers in the Harbor Heights neighborhood: Because All Non-Emergency Village offices are CLOSED on Monday, January 20, there will be no food scrap collection. The Compost Drop-Off Program at 313 Fayette Avenue will also be closed on Monday, January 20. In preparation for Monday, January 20, the Food Scraps Drop Off Program at 313 Fayette Avenue will be open:

  • From Monday, January 13 through Friday, January 17, from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a break for lunch between 12pm and 12:30pm.
  • On Saturday, January 18, from 9:00am to 1:00pm,again  with a break for lunch between 12pm and 12:30pm.
  • And again on Tuesday, January 21, from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a break for lunch between 12pm and 12:30pm.

While not as convenient as pick-up, we hope you will consider making alternative arrangements to drop off your food scraps. Otherwise, your next food scraps collection will be on Monday, January 27. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding.
