What to expect
Light snow (Friday night into early Saturday, February 6 to 7): Snow develops Friday evening and continues into early Saturday. Total accumulation is expected to be about 1 to 2 inches, with slippery spots possible as temperatures drop.
Strong winds (Saturday, February 7): Northwest wind gusts near 50 mph are expected Saturday morning through Saturday evening. Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects and could cause isolated power outages.
Dangerous cold (Saturday, February 7 into Sunday, February 8): Wind chills turn subzero on Saturday and become dangerously cold late Saturday into early Sunday. Wind chills may drop to minus 15 to minus 25 during the coldest period. Frostbite can occur in as little as 15 to 30 minutes on exposed skin.

How to prepare
• Limit time outdoors, especially late Saturday and early Sunday
• Dress in warm layers and cover exposed skin (hat, gloves, scarf, face covering)
• Bring pets indoors and check on neighbors who may need help
• Use caution on roads and sidewalks for snow and icy patches
• Secure outdoor items (trash cans, decorations, furniture)
• Take steps to protect plumbing in very cold conditions

Tenants should speak to their building manager or landlord to try to resolve any complaints related to heat. If this does not lead to a resolution, please contact the Building Department at (914) 777-7731. If you need assistance outside regular business hours, please contact the Police Department non-emergency line at (914) 777-1122. In an emergency, call 911.
Heating Assistance
Residents who are eligible can receive financial help to heat their homes this winter. To find out more about eligibility, call United Way 2-1-1 or the Westchester County Department of Social Services at (914) 995-3333.
