Village of Mamaroneck Receives $4.95 Million Grant for Mamaroneck Sanitary Sewer Improvements through New York State’s Water Quality Improvement Project Program

Just before the Christmas holiday, the Village of Mamaroneck learned that it will be the recipient of a $4.95 million grant from New York State. The grant, which is funded through New York State’s Water Quality Improvement Program, will provide funding to make improvements to the Village’s sanitary sewer system. Click here to read more.


Village of Mamaroneck Is Awarded $84,000 Grant from U.S. Department of Justice for Body Worn Cameras (BWC); Grant Fulfills One of the Crime Prevention Recommendations Set Forth by Village’s 2020-2021 Ad-Hoc Police Reform and Reinvention Committee

The Village of Mamaroneck is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $84,000 from the United States Department of Justice for the purchase of 42 Body Worn Cameras. The grant also fulfills one of the crime prevention recommendations set forth by the Village’s 2020-2021 Ad-Hoc Police Reform and Reinvention Committee. Click here to read more.


Second Half of Village Property Taxes Are Due On or Before Monday, January 3, 2022

The second half of Village Property Taxes are due on or before Monday, January 3, 2022, at 5:00PM. You may pay by mail, in person at 123 Mamaroneck Avenue, or by putting a check with the stub in the supplied envelope in the brown mailbox in front of 123 Mamaroneck Avenue (no stamp required, see photo below). In addition, tax payments that are postmarked by the USPS on January 3, 2022, are also acceptable.

Credit card payments can also be made in-person by Monday, January 3, 2022 at Village Hall. For credit card payments made in-person at Village Hall, please note that there is a 3% charge. If you utilize online bill-pay through your bank, please remember that you MUST include the stub mailed to you.

Please note the Clerk-Treasurer's Office CANNOT waive penality fees. If you have any questions, you may contact the Clerk-Treasurer's office at (914) 777-7722. Thank you.

All Village offices are closed on Friday, December 31st. However, normal Friday garbage/rubbish pickup will take place as scheduled. This is a change from an earlier version of our 2021 Sanitation Calendar. On Friday, December 31, (New Year’s Eve), normal garbage/rubbish pickup will take place as scheduled. (To lookup your garbage/rubbish pickup schedule, visit the Sanitation Pickup Schedule webpage or download the Recycling Right Westchester app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. You can also lookup your garbage/rubbish pickup schedule here.) The Recycling Center (including the Compost Drop-Off Program) at 313 Fayette Avenue will also be closed on Friday, December 31st and on Saturday, January 1st.

There will be no garbage, organic, rubbish, or recycling collection on Monday, January 3rd. Village Hall at the Regatta (123 Mamaroneck Avenue) IS CLOSED ON MONDAYS (EXCEPT Monday, January 3) until further notice. While the physical location will be closed on Mondays, please note that all office employees will work remotely and are available by phone and email. If you need to schedule an appointment with someone at Village Hall at the Regatta (123 Mamaroneck Avenue), please call the corresponding department:

Village Hall at the Regatta will be staffed Tuesdays through Fridays, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Residents can also drop-off documents (such as Property Tax Payments and Parking Permits - no postage necessary) in the dropbox outside the Main Entrance Door at Village Hall. This mailbox will be checked Tuesday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm.

The COVID-19 pandemic requires constant improvising and adjustment. We ask for your patience as the Village tries to adapt to these ever changing situations.

Oh Christmas Tree! Oh Christmass Tree! How do I dispose of you?

Now that Christmas is over, here are some guidelines about setting out your Christmas tree for collection. Christmas trees are chipped and used for composting to keep them out of the regular waste stream.

  • The Village's Department of Public Works will deploy personnel for tree collection through the end of January.
  • Christmas trees must be free of all decorations and lights. Please remove all tinsel, lights and decorations prior to placing the Christmas tree out on the curb.
  • Christmas trees should not be placed in plastic bags.
  • Christmas trees must be placed at the curb, not in the street, for collection.

Homeowners and renters with uninsured or underinsured damage to their property from Hurricane Ida have until Tuesday, January 4 to apply for FEMA disaster assistance. To apply for FEMA assistance, visit DisasterAssistance.gov, use the FEMA mobile app or call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loans are the largest source of federal disaster recovery funds for survivors. These low-interest disaster loans are not just for businesses. Homeowners, renters and certain nonprofits that were affected by Hurricane Ida may apply online for disaster loans using SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/. Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 or email DisasterCustomerService@sba.gov for more information. Individuals who are deaf or hard‑of‑hearing may call 800-877-8339.


Westchester County's Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)

As the expiration of the moratorium on evictions approaches on January 15, 2022, residents can apply for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) by clicking here.

Administered in partnership with the New York State's Office for Temporary Disability Assistance (OTDA), this rental assistance program supports households which are behind on their rent, which have experienced financial hardship, that are at risk of homelessness or housing instability and that earn at or below 80 percent of area median income. The program opened on June 1 and applications are now being accepted. For more information, please visit:

  • Westchester County's Emergency Rental Assistance Program COVID-19 Webpage
  • New York State's Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)

Applicants can file directly with New York State to receive financial assistance or work through the Community Resource Center (which is one of Westchester County's nonprofit partners) to receive application assistance. The program has been accepting applications since June 1, 2021, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that masks are required to be worn in all indoor public places unless businesses or venues implement a vaccine requirement. This a major action to address the winter surge as COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations rise statewide and to be in alignment with the CDC's recommendations for communities with substantial and high transmission. The State Health Commissioner issued a determination solidifying the requirement.
